Policy Analyst

India joined the Legal Network staff in July 2021.

At the Legal Network, India supports our research and advocacy work on HIV criminalization, challenging anti-gay laws in the Caribbean, drug policy and more.

Before joining the Network, India worked for the International Human Rights Program (IHRP) at the University of Toronto.  At the IHRP, India’s projects included highlighting the resilience of sexual violence survivors of the Rwandan genocide, as well as the development of a global campaign against the shackling of people with psychosocial disabilities (in collaboration with Human Rights Watch). She also served as a Legal Consultant for the UN Independent Expert on the enjoyment of human rights by persons with albinism.

India completed her articles in regulatory and corporate-commercial law, with a focus on the food, drug, and consumer packaged goods sectors.

India holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Guelph and a J.D. from the University of Toronto. She was called to the Ontario bar in spring 2021.
