The Canadian HIV\/AIDS Legal Network (\u201cLegal Network\u201d) welcomes this opportunity to make a submission to the International Commission of Jurists\u2019 consultation on \u201cDeveloping principles to address the detrimental impact on health, equality and human rights of criminalization with a focus on select conduct in the areas of sexuality, reproduction, drug use and HIV.\u201d In this submission, the Legal Network focuses on four key areas of our work:
\n\u2022 Criminalization of sex work;
\n\u2022 HIV criminalization;
\n\u2022 Criminalization of drug possession for personal use; and
\n\u2022 Criminalization of same-sex intimacy.<\/p>\n
