{"id":18931,"date":"2020-10-08T11:34:45","date_gmt":"2020-10-08T15:34:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hivlegalnetwork.ca\/site\/?p=18931"},"modified":"2022-09-29T15:37:01","modified_gmt":"2022-09-29T19:37:01","slug":"the-federal-initiative-to-address-hiv-aids-in-canada-2004","status":"publish","type":"publication22","link":"https:\/\/www.hivlegalnetwork.ca\/site\/the-federal-initiative-to-address-hiv-aids-in-canada-2004\/","title":{"rendered":"The Federal Initiative to Address HIV\/AIDS in Canada (2004)"},"content":{"rendered":"<em>By the Government of Canada:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The launch of the Federal Initiative to Address HIV\/AIDS in Canada signals a renewed and\u00a0strengthened federal role in the Canadian response to HIV\/AIDS.The Federal Initiative \u2013 a\u00a0partnership of the Public Health Agency of Canada, Health Canada, the Canadian Institutes of\u00a0Health Research and Correctional Service Canada \u2013 will work toward a Canada free from\u00a0HIV and AIDS and the underlying conditions that make Canadians vulnerable to the\u00a0epidemic.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve this, federal action will focus on providing leadership to enhance strategic\u00a0relationships, better align the efforts of key players (with clear roles and responsibilities) and\u00a0improve ongoing evaluation and ensure that people living with and vulnerable to HIV\/AIDS\u00a0are partners in shaping policies and practices affecting their lives.
