In advance of the adoption of the List of Issues Prior to Reporting for Canada’s periodic review under the UN Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (“CEDAW Convention”), to be held during the 76th Pre-Sessional Working Group (11 – 15 November, 2019), the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network (“HIV Legal Network”) and HIV & AIDS Legal Clinic Ontario (“HALCO”) would like to provide information to the Committee on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (“CEDAW Committee”) on violations of Articles 2, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 15 of the CEDAW Convention with respect to the human rights of women living with HIV, sex workers and women who use drugs.
