Open Letter to the Government of the Dominican Republic Regarding the Bill to Establish « Zones of Tolerance » for Sex Workers

« The undersigned, supporters and representatives of sex workers and organizations and individuals advocating for human rights, are deeply concerned with [the Bill]. While we understand the Government’s concern for the health and well-being of its citizens, the bill violates a range of human rights which will contribute to a climate of intolerance that will only heighten the risk of further violations, including stigma, discrimination and violence, against sex workers. »
